Western North Carolina has no shortage of lakes and falls.
Some can be spotted with just a short walk, while others take a little more effort. Either way, they are all totally worth the hike. In less than an hour’s drive from Cullowhee you can be at Whitewater Falls, Sliding Rock, High Falls, Jaw Bone Falls, Carlton Falls, Cullasaja Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Courthouse Falls and Indian Creek Falls, to name a few. However, if it’s a boat ride or simply a dip in a lake that you’re looking for, check out nearby Glenville Lake, Bear Lake, Cedar Cliff Lake and/or Wolf Lake.
